Tales from the Las Vegas Strip: MUGA 2019

KIt Sackett Infor MUGA 2019 Vegas The city of lights welcomed the Infor M3 user community for MUGA 2019, including two days of networking and learning about all things M3. No surprise that attendance was through the roof – this year’s meeting bumped up against the always-informative Infor TechEd, an immersive, hands-on learning experience where attendees can engage with Infor product developers, product managers, and education team members to learn how to get the most out of their M3 investment.

The Scene: It’s Vegas, so good food, glamourous showgirls, and awesome nightlife were in abundance. One of the best parts of the conference was bonding with customers, partners and Infor representatives as well as seeing old friends and making some new acquaintances. LeanSwift and Avalara sponsored an awesome opening night bash at Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville that was crowded and fun and gave everyone a chance to mingle before a full day of meetings, presentations, and breakout sessions.

Infor and Avaap unite at MUGA 2019 Vegas The Big Announcements: Hot on everyone’s mind is multi-tenancy and a session on multi-tenant made simple stole the show. Everything from the nuances of multi-tenant architecture to the benefits, scalability, and economies of scale were covered. Customers were excited about lower TCO, easier management, security, and the prospect of never needing to upgrade again. The topic of customizations commanded a lot of attention and many users indicated they were looking at existing modifications to see if modernizing can replace the functionality out of the box. We got a lot of questions from attendees seeking to understand multi-tenancy better and how it can improve the customer experience.

Roslyn Poplak Infor MUGA 2019 Vegas The Proof Points: We were lucky to be joined by Roslyn Poplak from Carrier Rentals who delivered a dynamic presentation on the upgrade path to the latest version of M3 and how they used Infor tools to eliminate customizations and create successful integrations and workflows to third- party applications such as Salesforce. Showing how Carrier was able to reduce customizations by leveraging the M3 Event Hub was a highlight of the presentation. We also hosted an intimate dinner for our customers to network with one another. It was great to hear them share their experiences and provide other attendees the opportunity to learn from others going through an Infor M3 implementation.

Ole Rasmussen Infor MUGA 2019 Vegas The Road Map: Infor’s Ole Rasmussen delivered a State of the Union-type address which included the road map, what’s coming, and the plan to forge new paths through innovative solutions. There is a lot of excitement around what Infor has planned for the future of ERP in technology in manufacturing.

Roslyn, Sharon, Kit Infor MUGA 2019 Vegas The Bonus Round: Ros’ presentation sparked a lot of interest in the Salesforce interface, and interfaces in general. We provided several examples, including how to create a quote in Salesforce and have it flow into an order in M3. With so many questions about integration with third-party products into Infor M3, we vow to produce a follow up session to outline the information and bring more education to market.

Big thanks to everyone from Infor and the partner community to customers who made this year’s MUGA meeting a success. Avaap is proud to be a gold sponsor and actively contribute to enhancing our customer’s Infor M3 experience and ensuring the user community get the greatest value from technology investments.
