ISELIN, N.J., JANUARY 21, 2014 – Avaap, the fastest growing software development and systems implementation firm specializing in Infor/Lawson IT services and solutions, today announced successful implementation of the Infor M3 Warehouse Mobility Solution at Weir Canada, a division of the Weir Group, a global engineering services company. The multi-warehouse implementation of Infor M3 Warehouse Mobility solution supports a best practices approach to managing physical inventories and assets, enabling Weir Canada to streamline and accelerate its warehouse and distribution processes for greater efficiency, customer responsiveness and cost and inventory control.
Avaap provided specialized technical expertise and an end-to-end solution to support Weir Canada’s goal of automating warehouse operations to increase efficiency and improve the accuracy and timeliness of product fulfillment to its minerals, oil and gas, and power and industrial clients. The project scope included evaluation and implementation of hardware, including servers, scanners and wireless access points, and Infor M3 applications for warehouse management and mobility.
Weir operates five warehouse locations in Canada. Its customers depend on Weir for pumps, valves, controls, replacement parts and other equipment to build or run everything from mines to wastewater plants to oil pipelines and nuclear facilities. Therefore, the company maintains a large inventory of critical components to help its clients maintain efficient, cost-effective operations. Weir Canada previously had manual processes to pick, pack and ship its products, but needed a solution that would automate its supply chain, increase efficiencies and bring greater rigor to warehouse and distribution operations.
Weir selected Avaap based on its knowledge of warehouse mobility, the Infor M3 application, and its global community of Infor-certified technical and functional resources. Weir Canada’s IT Director, Gilles Kegle, said, “Avaap demonstrated hardware and software expertise and the ability to tailor the solution to meet our specific business needs at a competitive price point. The result is streamlined distribution processes, greater customer responsiveness and improved accuracy in our warehouse operations.”
The first phase of implementation included Weir’s Toronto location and will extend to its other Canadian warehouse locations by mid-summer 2014.
“The success of our implementation is a credit to Avaap and its technical process in implementing Infor M3 Warehouse Mobility,” said Kegle. “The knowledge and experience gained through the first phase of implementation will continue to add value as we roll out the solution to our other warehouse locations, enabling us to better serve our customers and provide them with accurate, on-time delivery of mission-critical products.”
