Upgrading an EHR is a necessary and important process that helps to ensure the long-term success of your IT investment. Upgrades can be required by your vendor for good standing or for support purposes, but your organization can also use an upgrade to increase productivity, functionality, usability, and end user satisfaction.
The business world has changed in everything from statutory and regulatory policies to how people work, placing new demands on the ERP system. But the more process and technology change, the harder it is for legacy systems to keep up.

From the perspective of physician leaders, the HIMSS 2017 meeting was overwhelming (as always!) There are always more sessions to attend and more vendors with whom to visit than is humanly possible, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have fun trying.

While non-federal acute care hospitals are seeing EHR adoption rates around 96 percent, the small amount of data found on for-profit long-term care facilities shows less than half that rate.
Hospitals and healthcare organizations face the increasing challenge of managing escalating costs while striving to deliver exceptional patient experiences. Looking to the supply chain and using data can help organizations identify waste and opportunities to trim costs. Connecting supply chain data with labor and other expenses provides more accurate insight into what it costs to treat a patient, linking care to quality. It also ensures that the hospital is equipped with the right materials, where and when they’re needed, especially important in the wake of the global pandemic.
